IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today inducted in two more directors in its board, including the former finance secretary Vijay Kelkar.
The company has appointed Kelkar as an independent director on the board. It has also named Tata Sons' Finance Director Ishaat Hussain as a board member.
Both the appointments will come into effect from today, a release said. TCS now has 12 directors in its board, with six independent directors.
Kelkar has served the Centre in various capacities, including advisor to Finance Minister and Finance Secretary, Secretary to Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and recently, as the Chairman of the 13th Finance Commission.
Ishaat Hussain joined the Tata Sons board as an executive director on July 1,1999, prior to this, he served as an executive director-finance at Tata Steel for almost 10 years.
At present, Hussain is the chairman of Voltas and Tata Sky and serves on the boards of several Tata Group enterprises. He is also a public interest director of the Bombay Stock Exchange.
