Volvo has appointed Mrityunjaya Singh as the new managing director of Volvo India Private Limited. He succeeds Eric Leblanc. Singh is currently heading the construction equipment business of Volvo in India. During his tenure, Volvo Construction Equipment grew manifold to become one of the largest such operations in the country, a company press release said.
Recently, the Volvo group in India floated two new companies -- VE Commercial Vehicles and Volvo Buses India Private Limited. Volvo India employs 800 people and is a source for components, product design and development and IT services for the Volvo group, globally and locally.
