Select Westside showrooms, the Tatas’ chain of retail stores, may display the Tata Nano, the world’s cheapest car.
“We are conducting a feasibility study to see whether the car can be displayed inside some of the Westside stores across the city (Mumbai),” said a source close to the development.
The feasibility study is being conducted to select showrooms that have suitable entrance and enough space to accommodate the Rs 1-lakh car. The car might be displayed at showrooms that meet the required specifications.
A Tata Motors spokesperson said: “We will answer the questions on March 23 (the official launch date of Tata Nano). Let there be some element of surprise.”
The forms for booking the car will be available at Tata Motors dealerships, State Bank of India branches, Westside and Croma stores. Tata Motors is likely to charge around Rs 300 for each application.
