West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra will meet Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on September 6 or 7.
“I am going to Delhi to attend a meeting with Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on September 6 or 7,” Mitra told reporters at the state secretariat here on Monday.
Mitra, however, declined to divulge details about the meeting.
Replying to query on the status of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s demand for financial assistance to Bengal, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said on Friday that the Centre was keen to help all states which have financial problems and West Bengal was no exception.
