West Bengal unit of Congress party is now mulling to take legal action against state chief minister and Trinamool supremo for mimicking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during a interview with a national channel, indicating growing bitterness between the two parties.
“Prime Minister represents the country. Such a behaviour from a chief minister is unfortunate and uncalled-for. We are speaking to high command to decide whether to take a legal action against this,” Congress MP from West Bengal Deepa Dasmunshi said.
In the interview, Banerjee had resorted to mimicry of Prime minister Manmohan Singh, to speak about his role in UPA coordination committee meeting, in which Congress party claimed issues like FDI in retail and diesel price hike were discussed.
