The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI's) Working Committee today met at Chennai and reviewed the presentation on the Proposals of the ICC Commercial Rights Working Group. The proposal recommends a structural overhaul of the ICC and cedes most of its executive decision-making powers to the BCCI, Cricket Australia and the ECB.

N Srinivasan, president, BCCI did not chair today's meeting, since his mother passed away on Wednesday.

Sanjay Patel, secretary, BCCI said that the Committee members reviewed the Presentation on the Proposals of the ICC Commercial Rights Working Group and discussed at length the proposals of the ICC Working Group and felt that this proposal was in the interest of Cricket at large.

The committee unanimously made few decisions including formally approved the proposal of the Working Group, authorised the Office Bearers to enter into agreements with ICC for participating in the ICC Events and Host ICC Events, subject to the proposal being approved in the ICC Board and to discuss bilateral matches with other Full Members (including Pakistan) and sign formal FTP Agreements.

He added that the members did not discuss Srinivasan becoming ICC president and there was no proposal also.On the ICC draft proposal, he said, it's a recognition of India's involvement in cricket and revenue generation by India.

“We are asking the legitimate right It would not shrink cricketing activity in any way,” said Patel, who noted, so far no objections and it's a question of understanding.

He further said, it's not a question of power game. “We are not asking more than what we should”.Patel said IPL fixtures being deliberated and the meeting and power given to Gc.“We are going to propose ICC champions trophy including the tests. A separate fund has been proposed,” said Patel. The Working committee apprised members of the ICC proposal and discussed financial model and approved the proposal. “We re trying to approve many things which we have not done in the pastThere are many proposals on models and it's quite favorable,” said Patel, who said further discussion will be taken up at a meeting in Dubai in the coming days.
