Uber says demand across categories rose in double digits. It launched UberPool, a service that clubs people travelling in the same direction, offering up to 30 per cent cheaper shared riders.
"We have witnessed a significant increase in demand - almost in double digits - across various categories over the last few days in Delhi-NCR. Since the launch of Uber's car pooling initiative, we have seen a steadfast rise in number of people opting in car pool so much so that our match rates between passengers who are requesting a ride while going in the same direction, at the same time has touched over 50 per cent in such a short period of time. We are optimistic that people will continue to carpool on Uber even after the odd-even experiment," said a spokesperson of Uber.
