IITB's recruitment drive for non-teaching staff ends March 11

Candidates who have applied online have to attend a written test on March 12, 2017 at IIT Bombay

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has invited online applications for recruitment of 17 non-teaching staff including Software Engineers, Data Entry Operators and Help Desk Operators (SAP) with immediate effect to support ongoing SAP-ERP installation endeavor.
 
Candidates with the requisite qualification and experience can apply online at http://www.iitb.ac.in/en/careers/staff-recruitment. Last date to submit applications at the public engineering and research institution is March 11, 2017.
 
All the posts are temporary and the appointees will not get any privileges, i.e. housing and other benefits, available to regular employees of IIT Bombay. The selected candidates shall be required to join within one week of making the final offer to support ongoing SAP-ERP installation endeavor.

Eligibility criteria
 
Candidates keen on software engineer posts have to M.Sc. (IT/Computer Science), or B.Tech. / B.E. in any discipline, or B.Sc. (IT/Computer Science) with 2 years experience, or M.C.A with 1-year experience.  Computer/IT graduates with high analytical skills and software competency to support campus-wide ERP implementation will be preferred. While the computer/IT background is desirable, but not essential, selected candidates will need to understand IIT Bombay’s administrative processes, SAP implementation, learn and undergo usage training and subsequently train end-users. Good analytical ability, comprehension ability and a high level of competency in use of computer productivity software are an added bonus.

 
For the post of data entry operator, interested candidate should have a bachelors’ degree (IT / Computer Science), or Diploma (IT / Computer Science) of three years duration.
 
Candidates keen on help desk operator posts should have a bachelors’ degree in IT or computer science, or have diploma in IT or computer science of three years duration.
 
For all three posts, candidates who have worked with Linux systems and have a very high competency in use of computer software packages such as accounting and or ERP software will be preferred.
 
Candidate should have 60% aggregate marks, 55% in case of SC/ST (applicable only if the post is reserved), to be eligible for recruitment. Appointment will be on the basis of merit and will be subject to satisfactory verification of original certificates / testimonials provided along with the application.

Selection process
 
Eligible and registered candidate will have to attend a written test on March 12, 2017 at:  LA101 & LA102, Lecture hall complex, IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai – 400076.
 
They have to bring a passport size photo (not less than 3 months old), self attested copies of certificates and mark-sheets in support of their qualifications (matriculation onwards), experience, Date of Birth, caste etc. along with proof of identity (Aadhaar, PAN card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport or Government Employee ID) for verification.

 
The written test comprises objective type questions and will be conducted over a 2-hour duration.
