The All India Majils-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) would hold deliberations with its party leaders in West Bengal oncontesting the polls in the state, party chief Asaduddin Owaisi said here on Sunday. To queries on AIMIM contesting the next Assembly polls in West Bengal, the Hyderabad MP told reporters that the party is holding a meeting with the West Bengal unit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the International Solar Alliance would help in reducing carbon footprint and called it the fastest-growing international organisation with 88 signatories.
Speaking at the G20 summit virtually, Prime Minister Modi said, "We will meet our goal of 175 GW of renewable energy well before our target of 2022. We are taking a big step ahead by seeking to achieve 450 GW by 2030."

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has told the Supreme Court that the Tamil Nadu governor has to take a call on the grant of remission to Rajiv Gandhi assassination convict AG Perarivalan, who is serving life sentence in the case.
In its affidavit filed on November 20, the CBI said that Perarivalan is not the subject matter of further investigation carried out by the CBI-led Multi-Disciplinary Monitoring Agency (MDMA) which is conducting a probe on the larger conspiracy aspect as per the mandate of Jain Commission report.
The top court is hearing a plea of 46-year-old Perarivalan seeking suspension of his life sentence in the case till the MDMA probe is completed.

West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee on Sunday said that the state government has objected to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar sending letters to vice-chancellors of universities of north Bengal to know the reasons behind their absence at a meeting convened by him.
The governor, who is also the chancellor of state-run universities and now in Darjeeling for a month-long visit, had tweeted on November 4 that he was looking forward to a meeting with all the VCs of the regions varsities on November 9 to be updated with affairs of the institutes.

In a fresh war of words, TMC strongman Anubrata Mondal described BJP as the "biggest virus in Bengal", and the saffron partys state chief Dilip Ghosh retorted, saying that the ruling party's days are numbered.
At a programme on Saturday, the Birbhum chief of the TMC invited Ghosh to "meet my booth-level workers" and subsequently join the ruling party, to which the BJP leader said that he would ensure Mondal's "fury" remains under check.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has written to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to take action against e-commerce major Amazon and Flipkart for alleged violation of FDI and FEMA norms.
In a letter to the DPIIT Secretary, Guruprasad Mohapatra, the traders' body said: "Our association has been requesting your good office to take appropriate steps and investigate, punish and penalize the multinational companies like Amazon and Flipkart (owned by foreign multinational company 'Walmart', interchangeably used hereinafter) for the blatant violation and/or by exploitation of the loopholes of the FDI policy and Foreign Exchange Management Act."
