'Usage of Document Management Systems sees 23% rise in Gujarat'

Document management is among one of the services now being opted by SMEs

Gujarat is emerging as a lucrative market for Document Management Systems (DMS) and its penetration has witnessed 23 per cent upsurge in the state over the past decade, a leading DMS provider has said.

"Gujarat is a lucrative market for Document Management Systems. Document management is among one of the services now being opted by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). With the growing need to enter the e-world, DMS has witnessed an upsurge of about 23 per cent over the past decade in the state," a statement issued by SoftAge, a Document Management Service provider, said here.

"With a lot of digital documents coming in, there is an increasing need for better Document Management Systems. DMS is going to be among the most precious assets a firm can possess with the amount of data being handled by organisations only set to amplify," the statement added.

SoftAge's clients in Gujarat include Vodafone, GTPL (Gujarat Telelink Pvt Ltd) and ISRO (Indian space research organisation), the company statement said.

The major requirement, the statement highlighted, for DMS lies in telecom, information technology (IT), education sectors.
