AP to present vote-on-account Budget

The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to convene the Assembly sessions from March 11 to seek vote on account for the expenditure in the first quarter in place of a full Budget.

Disclosing this here on Tuesday, finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said the decision to introduce vote on account was taken in view of the government’s plans to introduce the system of standing committees from the next financial year.

After the vote on account, the government would introduce a regular Budget, which will be studied by the standing committees before adopting the same by the Assembly, he said.
