The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)’s special court on Friday granted seven-day police custody to CBI of Koneru Prasad, a key accused in the Emaar-APIIC township project case that it is currently investigating.
In August this year, the Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered a CBI probe into the alleged fraud played on the state’s nodal agency, APIIC, which is a joint venture partner in the Emaar Hills Township Project Limited.
Meanwhile, Kadapa MP and YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday spent over two hours with the CBI officials at the latter’s office as they recorded his statement in the illegal iron ore mining case framed against former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy.
Jagan, however, went offensive against the CBI for not having questioned former CM N Chandrababu Naidu , under whose tenure Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) of Janardhan Reddy had got its first iron ore mining lease in 2002.
