Direct tax collection to go up: FinMin

"Central Board of Direct Taxes, will meet  in next couple of days to finalise the revision.The finance ministry has targeted direct tax collectionof Rs 3,65000 crore for the current fiscal 2008-09",Chidambaram said.

The government had collected direct taxes to the tune of Rs 3,14,468 crore.This is 117.56 per cent of original budget estimate for 2007-08, said Chidambaram.
