EC issues notice to Shinde

"The announcement made by Shinde that the Centre will give one more power project of 4,000 Mw capacity if Congress comes to power is viewed as a violation of poll code," state Chief Electoral Officer M N Vidyashankar said.

Shinde, who was here to campaign for the party made the announcement, before leaving for Bellary. The first phase of polling for 89 assembly segments in eleven districts was held today.
