The government today indicated that it was not contemplating any action against the management of oil PSUs, which last week saw a three-day strike that crippled fuel supplies across the country.

"Everyone has undergone a great deal of trauma, we have had a tough experience. I don't think you all should start finding fault. It is the time to look ahead to the future," Petroleum Secretary R S Pandey told reporters here.

When asked if the government would enquire into the alleged complicity with the striking executives and take action against them, Pandey said, "I am not aware of any action (being taken against any PSU chairman and director)."

Pandey said the government would do introspection so that such things do not reoccur in the future. "No one will be able to hold the country to ransom," he added.

A committee of ministers headed by Home Minister P Chidambaram will look into the demand for higher wages made by oil executives and give its recommendations in 30 days time. "If the committee finds all of the demands are genuine, all will be accepted. If it finds none of it as genuine, none will be accepted," he said.
