The completion of the conceptual plan and feasibility report of the biotechnology park at Aduwal in the Baddi industrial hub region has now been set for June end this year, as work could not be completed by March 31.

The Election Commission too gave permission in this regard. The Centre will provide Rs 9 crore while the state government will chip in with another Rs 8 crore for the first phase, say sources.

The biotech park is to come up on a 35-acre site and will be financed through a public-private-partnership agreement.

Permission has been sought from various departments to supply water and power besides cutting out a motorable road to the proposed site.

The proposed site is located 7 km from Nalagarh.

The Rs 250 crore park will have the potential to attract investments to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore.

The Himachal Pradesh government has already appointed Mott MacDonald as consultant for the project.

Big companies including Dabur, Panacea Biotech and Cadila among others are reportedly keen to invest in the park.
