Koda to stay with UPA

Independent candidate and former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, who won the Singhbhum(ST) Lok Sabha seat today said he would remain with the UPA.     

"I was, I am and I will remain with the United Progressive Alliance. I won the election on the development plank," a jubilant Koda said soon after winning by a margin of over 85,000 votes.    

"It is a historic win and for the first time an independent candidate has been elected from the Singhbhum(ST) constituency," Koda said.    

Koda became chief minister of Jharkhand heading the UPA government in 2006.
