The Directorate of Income-tax Investigation (DITI), Mumbai has set up a ‘Cyber Forensic Lab’ with the help of the Centre for the Development of Advanced Computing. This forensic lab consists of advanced technological equipment to decipher tax evasion and detect revenue fraud.
“The facility has been set up in Delhi and Mumbai to detect those who evade tax. We already have some regular checks and searches conducted by our people, these tools will be added as part of our search operations,” M Rathinasamy, Additional Director of Income Tax (Investigation), Mumbai said.
The lab will be of immense help to the directorate of investigation for gathering and analysing data and digital evidences.
