As part of its plan to diversify to the tier-II cities, Oxford Bookstore, one of the leading premium bookstore chains, has opened its first store in Bhubaneswar.
Located on the second floor of the Pal Heights, the store was inaugurated by the chief minister, Naveen Patnaik.
The bookstore has an entire section devoted to Orissa along with the best titles in Indian and International publishing. There are also sections on fictions, literature, travel, cookery and well researched sections dealing with yoga and travels.
Besides, there is a new age section along with titles on religion, children, art and architecture, business, Indians writing in English, reference, vernaculars and the nature.
Speaking on the occasion Priya Paul, chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels said, the bookstore is dedicated to the children. Opening of the bookstore in Bhubaneswar is one of the ways to encourage the growth of literature in the state.
Stating that the company is setting up Rs 175 crore logistic park in Kalinganagar, Paul said, a knowledge park is also being set up in Bhubaneswar.
Further, the group is also looking for opportunities to set up Park Hotel in Bhubaneswar. It is also in the process of setting up Rs 3100 crore shipyard and oil rig project at Dhamara in Bhadrakh district. The chief minister said, the Oxford bookstore has a large number of children’s title which is refreshing. The Apeejay Surrendra group plans to set up Park Hotels at Bhubaneswar and Puri which is good news for Orissa, he added.
