The committee of officers chaired by the Finance Secretary Arun Ramanathan has held two rounds of consultations on issues raised by industry with regard to the current global financial situation and its impact on India.
The panel, which met on Thursday and Friday, had preliminary round of consultations, officials said.
The panel has sought suggestions from trade and industry on the situation and steps needed to be taken to address their difficulties like adequate flow of credit.
The committee, set up with the approval of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh this week, has on board Commerce Secretary G K Pillai, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion Secretary Ajay Shankar and Planning Commission Secretary Subash Pani.
