Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that all political parties irrespective of their ideological differences should work together for the development of the country.
In an interview to PTI, Chouhan said that elections come and go in a democracy but development is something which needs to be done at all times.
He said that various political parties have their own ideologies but none of them should come in the way of any kind of development work.
He was of the view that those belonging to different political parties need not be enemies or even rivals and they should all work unitedly for the nation's progress.
Chouhan said that personally he had never thought of Congress leaders as his enemies or rivals.
He said that he talks frequently to the Madhya Pradesh Congress President, Suresh Pachauri and Union Ministers, Kamalnath and Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Asked if he also spoke to Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Digvijay Singh also, he said, "Yes, I speak to him also".
In a democracy, losing and winning elections is a part of the game and no one should be too much perturbed about it, the Chief Minister said.
Chouhan said that democracy would cease to have any meaning if only one party won all the elections all the time.
He said that the BJP wanted its senior leader L K Advani to become the Prime Minister after the last Lok Sabha elections but that did not happen.
The Chief Minister said that one should have no regret about election results as they only indicate the verdict given by the people.
