As before, a report card listed some of the most signal achievements of the government but Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said he was looking for public support and endorsement of all the schemes that his government had launched. The PM emphasised that inflation would come under check in 8-10 weeks. "While supply side and demand side measures will have their salutary impact on the price level, a normal monsoon and public recognition of the government's determination to reverse the recent spurt in inflation will also help alter the state of expectations," he said.
