The results of Bihar Board class 12 examination were declared by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) today at 4:15 pm.

Students can check the results of their respective streams (Science, Commerce and Arts) on the website, www.biharboard.ac.in. In order to avoid heavy traffic on the official website, which may result in the website crashing frequently, students can also check their results on these alternative links: indiaresults.com, bsebssresult.com. 

The pass percentage for Bihar Board 12th result is at 52.95%. Kalpana Kumari topped from science stream. She has also topped NEET exams. The pass percentage for commerce stream is at 91.32% with Nidhi Sinha topping the exam. Out of 11.9 lakh students to registered for the Class 12 examination, 6.31 lakh students passed. The result was announced by Bihar education minister Kriahnanandan Prasad Verma, principal secretary RK Mahajan and BSEB chairman Anand Kishor.

Right after Bihar Board Class 12th results 2018 were declared, BSEB website biharboard.ac.in crashed, as anxious students rushed to check their result. Nearly 12,07,986 students appeared for the Bihar Intermediate Class 12 exams at 1,384 centres cross the state of Bihar this year. The top five scorers each of the three streams of Class XII examinations will get the Deshratn Dr Rajendra Prasad Medha Chhatravriti.

This year, the written examination was conducted by BSEB from 6 to 16 February and the practical examinations were held from 11 to 25 January.

1.7 million students had appeared for the Class 10 examinations and 1.28 million students appeared in the class XII examination. The class XII Bihar Board examination was held at around 1,384 centres across the state.

Meanwhile, class X board results are expected to be announced on June 7, ie., tomorrow, according to media reports. 

Bihar government has also announced scholarships for the toppers of class X and XII. Ten toppers of Class X will get Rs 1,200 per month for two years to pursue higher secondary education. However, the students will have to fetch at least 60 per cent marks in Class XI to claim the scholarship.

Five toppers of Class XII will get Rs 1,500 per month for pursuing higher education and will receive the scholarship depending on the duration of the course. For instance, if a student is pursuing basic graduation, the scholarship will be for three years. For students who are pursuing professional courses like MBBS and engineering, the scholarship will continue for five years and fours years, respectively.

A total of 44.7% students passed Science, 91.32% cleared Commerce and 61.32% qualified in Arts stream this year.

Science stream topper: Kalpana Kumari, who is also NEET 2018 topper scored 434 marks in Bihar 12th Science examination.

Commerce Stream topper: Nidhi Sinha from RDS College Muzaffarpur became the Commerce topper with 434 marks.

Arts Stream topper: Kusum Kri from Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya, Jamui, stood as Arts stream topper with 424 marks.
