IGNOU announced admissions for MBA in banking and finance January 2018

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) recently announced admissions to Master of Business Administration (MBA) in banking and finance programme through the open and distance learning (ODL) mode for the January 2018 session. The last date to receive to submit the application forms is by December 12, 2017.

The MBA program is specifically designed for bankers and offered through countrywide network of IGNOU study centres.

Eligibility criteria
In order to seek admission to the programme, interested candidate should be a graduate from a recognized university/institution. He/she should have passed the Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB) examinations of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Mumbai and awarded the requisite qualification/credentials thereof by the institute. He/she should have been working in the banking or financial services sector for a period of at least two years.

MBA in banking and finance
Developed collaboratively by School of Management Studies, IGNOU and the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF), Mumbai, the programme uses standard IGNOU multi-media design and technology aided delivery systems. The University announces admissions to the MBA (Banking & Finance) Programme for the session commencing January 2018.

IGNOU January 2018 admissions
Student handbook and prospectus of the programme can be obtained from the Director, Student Service Centre (SSC), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 or from any of the IGNOU regional centres. The addresses are listed on the website. The handbook and prospectus can be obtained in person on payment of Rs.1000 in cash.

Candidates can also get it through post by sending a demand draft of Rs.1050 drawn in favour of ‘IGNOU’ payable at the city from where the prospectus is requested. They have to write their names and address and ‘MPB’ on the reverse of the DD and send request to the concerned IGNOU Office.

The application form can also be downloaded from IGNOU website. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to:
  • Log on to the official website www.ignou.ac.in
  • Click on the tab Student Support
  • Go to Downloads
  • Select School of Management from the By School dropdown menu
  • Download the Master of Business Application (Banking & Finance) prospectus
  • Save and carefully go through the prospectus
  • Print the application form for fresh application, located towards the end of the prospectus
  • Fill in all the details carefully, refer to the instructions
  • Submitted the form along with a DD of Rs.1000, in addition to the Programme fee
Course fee can also be paid through bank challan (both at the time of admission and Re-registration/ Re-admission) at the designated Indian Bank and IDBI Bank branches as mentioned in the prospectus. Of the two copies of the challan returned by the bank, the copy marked as University’s copy should be submitted to the Regional Centre along with Admission/Re-registration form. According to the prospectus, the fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances. It is also not adjustable against any other programme of this university.
