District electoral officer Vikas Gothwal said here that SP candidate and sitting MLA Nandita Shukla took out a vehicle rally yesterday with permission of the local administration, but the number of vehicles in the procession was in excess of fixed limit.
Taking cognisance of this, in charge of flying squad Ajay Kumar Ahirwar lodged an FIR against Nandita and her supporters riding on 200 motorcycles and 30 four wheelers at Nawabganj police station last night, Gothwal said.
The district magistrate said that another FIR was lodged as the candidate held a public meeting in Nawabganj town without taking permission.
He said that the third case was lodged at Motiganj police station for using vehicles in excess of fixed limit in the procession.
