The seat will witness multi-cornered contest among CPI(M), Congress, Trinamool Congress and BJP.
There are 12 candidates in the fray, including CPI(M)'s Jitendra Chowdhury, who is the state industries and commerce minister and a prominent tribal leader, Congress' Sachitra Debbarma, a prominent educationist, Parkshit Debbarma, BJP's candidate and an ex-armyman and Trinamool Congress leader Bhriguram Reang.

It stressed on good governance during campaigning and highlighted that the state government has received 35 awards from the Centre for successful implementation of its flagship programmes.
Congress in its campaign claimed that Left Front has been alienated from the people, while both the TMC and BJP alleged that the state has been turned into a cadre raj of the Left Front.
BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tripura Chief Minister and CPI(M) politburo member Manik Sarkar were the key campaigners in the constituency.
In the second and last phase of polling in the state on Saturday, 11,38,765 voters, including 5,80,497 men, are able to cast their ballots in 1,490 polling stations of which 18 have been identified as very vulnerable and more than 400 as vulnerable.
The Election Commission has set up nine all-women polling stations.
An additional 35 companies of security forces have been dispatched by the EC for deployment along with the state police.
The BSF has deployed additional forces along the 856 km Indo-Bangla international border, BSF DIG B S Rawat said.
Watch is being kept on the international border and security agencies in Tripura are closely monitoring the intelligence inputs to ensure free and fair polls, he added.
Voting in Tripura West seat was held on April 7 on the first phase.
