Rajasthan all set for vote counting of LS polls tomorrow

Total of 25 counting centres have been set up for the counting of votes of as many parliamentary constituencies

Preparations for the vote counting of Lok Sabha elections have been completed in Rajasthan where the counting is to start at 8 AM amid tight security tomorrow.

Polling in 25 parliamentary constituencies of the state took place in two phases on April 17 and 24 in which 63% of 4.29 crore electors cast their votes.

Elaborate security arrangements will be in place in and around the counting centres and only authorised persons will be allowed to enter the premises after checking, officials said.

In the state capital, two counting centres have been set up in Commerce and Rajasthan college for the counting of votes of Jaipur and Jaipur rural constituencies, district election officer Krishna Kunal said.

A total of 25 counting centres have been set up for the counting of votes of as many parliamentary constituencies.

Counting centre for Tonk-Sawaimadhopur, Jhalawar-Baran, Karauli-Dholpur has been set up in Tonk, Jhalawar and Karauli district headquarters respectively, according to CEO office.

A total of 320 candidates including 25 each from BJP and Congress contested the elections.

27 female candidates including Union Ministers Chandresh Kumari and Girija Vyas and sitting MP Jyoti Mirdha were also in the fray for the elections for 16th Lok Sabha.
