Even the UPA government had failed to control price rise as Cabinet ministers were busy in corruption, he alleged adding that Congress was responsible for the present situation in the country as the UPA government did nothing for development.
Addressing a public rally, he said the successive Congress governments at the Centre had always betrayed Punjab on every front whether it was loan waiver scheme of farmers, industrial package for the neighbouring states or other welfare schemes.
"It was wrong policies of the Centre that led to the present state of affairs in the country," he added.
He called upon the people to vote in favour of SAD-BJP alliance and to support for all the 13 seats to constitute a BJP-led NDA government at the Centre as it would rope in more funds from NDA to develop the State.
Badal said that the Centre even tried to take away water from state's rivers while Congress always played with the sentiments of the Sikh community.
He claimed that a strong Narendra Modi wave was blowing across the country and the Congress would be thrown out of power.
"Modi will give justice to Punjab as all unsolved problems of the State, including claim on Chandigarh and river water issue would be solved," he said.
