A bank official on Friday identified the account statements of Reliance Communication Ltd in a Delhi court, holding the 2G case trial, and said the data cannot be tampered with as it was automatically generated.

Deposing as a prosecution witness, Ankur Huria, manager at HDFC Bank in Mumbai, said now there is no ledger system in the bank and everything is automatic.

"There is no system of ledger in the bank as everything is automatic. The concept of ledger is no more in existence and nobody can tamper with the data as the same is automatically generated," Huria told special CBI judge O P Saini. Huria identified a January 27, 2011, letter of the bank addressed to deputy SP of CBI and said it bears the signatures of his superior Amarjeet Singh Kabo who was senior manager in the bank at the time of issuance of the letter.

"I have been shown the forwarding letter dated January 27, 2011, addressed to deputy SP, CBI. The same bears the signatures of Amarjeet Singh Kabo which I identify. I think, on January 31, 2011, I handed over this letter and the accompanying documents to CBI," the witness said.

He also identified two account statements of Reliance Communication Ltd in bank's Mumbai branch and said the document was handed over to him by Kabo. "Each page of this document (account statement) bears seal of the bank and my initials which I identify. It is a statement of bank account of Reliance Communications Ltd in HDFC Bank, Mumbai.

This document was received from Mumbai office of the bank through official channel and was handed over to me by Amarjeet Singh Kabo," Huria said.
