Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Irda) today said that they have raised the limit of losses required to be surveyed by a licensed surveyor and loss assessor from Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 for Hudhud cyclone claims.

The exemption is valid for two months for claims arising out of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha from the cylone damages.

This would mean that smaller size claims, up to Rs 49,999 can be passed without being assessed by a licensed surveyor and loss assessor.
