Union Home Secretary reviews progress in talks with ULFA A meeting involving the representatives of Government of Assam, and ULFA was held here today under the Chairmanship of Union Home Secretary, Shri Rajiv Mehrishi to review the progress made in talks with ULFA. The ULFA delegation was led by Shri Arabinda Rajkhowa, Chairman, ULFA. The Government Representatives included Shri P.C. Haldar, Representative for Peace Talks, Shri V.K. Pipersenia, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Assam, Shri Pallab Bhattacharya, Addl. DGP, Assam, Shri A.K. Cassyap, Addl. DGP, Border Assam, Mrs. L.S. Changsan, Commissioner & Secretary Home, Govt. of Assam. Shri Ashok Prasad, Secretary (IS) MHA, Shri Satyendra Garg, Joint Secretary, North East, MHA were also present. Appreciating the efforts made by the Government for repatriation of Shri Anup Chetia from Bangladesh to India, ULFA leaders requested to associate him in the ongoing peace process. The Union Home Secretary suggested to the Government of India's Representative to examine the request of ULFA leaders. Discussions were cordial and it was agreed to meet again as soon as mutually convenient to move the peace process forward.
