According to reports, Ashiq Ullah Mehsud was killed in a clash in the Hurman village near Mir Ali town in north Waziristan Agency.
He was also a trainer of suicide bombers of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The incident is believed to be the result of rivalry between the Shehryar Mehsud and Khan Said Sajna groups. The latter also parted ways with the central TTP group.
He was linked with the Taliban group, earlier led by slain TTP commander Hakimullah Mehsud.
