IIT-K hosts panel talk on CSR

Officials from ITC, KPMG Advisory Services and ACC dwelled on the imperatives of a strong CSR framework in modern day businesses

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) recently hosted industry experts, who brainstormed on the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the growth of a business organisation.

The panel discussion on ‘Attaining Sustainable Growth through Corporate Social Responsibility: A Breakthrough or just Green Washing’ was organised by the department of industrial and management engineering at IIT-K.

The panel discussion was part of the flagship ‘Prabandhan 2014’ fest of the MBA programme of IIT-K.

Senior officials from ITC, KPMG Advisory Services and ACC India discussed the issue in detail and dwelled upon the imperatives of a strong CSR framework in modern-day businesses for sustainability.

The panelists agreed that the concept of CSR continued to evolve and Indian companies had displayed seriousness in their commitments towards society.
