Aluminium futures traded 0.86 per cent lower at Rs 103.50 per kg today, as speculators offloaded their holdings amid a weak trend at the London Metal Exchange.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, aluminium for delivery in January fell by 90 paise, or 0.86 per cent, to Rs 103.50 per kg, with an open interest of 48 lots.

Aluminium for delivery in December also shed 75 paise, or 0.73 per cent to Rs 102.45 per kg, with a trading volume of 515 lots.

Marketmen said weakness in aluminium futures was mostly due to a weak trend in the entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange.
