Lead rises 0.2% on spot demand

Firm trend overseas supported the uptrend here

Lead futures for February traded higher by 30 paise, or 0.23% to Rs 130.30 per kg in 5,724 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the March contract edged up by similar margin to Rs 130.80 per kg in 802 lots.

Prices rose as speculators enlarged positions on the back of rise in demand from battery makers.

Firm trend overseas also supported the uptrend.

On the London Metal Exchange (LME), the three-month contract added 0.5% at $2,427 a tonne.
