Asian markets end mixed; Hang Seng slips 302pts

The Hang Seng tumbled 302 points (1.7%) to 17,088.  The Nikkei, however, was up 19 points at 9,452.

The Shanghai Composite dropped 46 points (1.7%) to 2,580.  The Straits Times ended down 65 points (3%)at 2,173.

The Seoul Composite was up three points at 1,415, and the Taiwan Weighted index added 64 points to 6,647.

Asian markets have turned positive now.

The Nikkei has advanced 18 points to 9,450. The Hang Seng has soared 289 points (1.5%) to 17,679.

The Shanghai Composite has gained 24 points to 2,650.The Seoul Composite is up 7 points at 1,419 and the Taiwan Weighted has added 95 points to 6,679. 

On the other hand, the Straits Times has declined 12 points to 2,226.

Asian markets are mixed this morning.

The Hang Seng has gained 119 points at 17,509. The Nikkei, however, has dropped 61 points to 9,372. The Japanese market dropped  following news Toyota Motor Corp's recording of a much larger-than-expected annual loss.

The Shanghai Composite has advanced 36 points (1.5%) to 2,661. The Taiwan Weighted and the Seoul Composite are flat at 6,607 and 1,414, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Straits Times has declined 16 points (1%) to 2,222.
