Base metals rally on 'Muhurat' trade

The Mumbai Metal Exchange ushered the Samvat-2067 on a highly bouyant note here today.

Trading commenced after a long 'Diwali' holidays with most of base metals rallying due to pick up in demand from stockists and traders.

Tin prices jumped by Rs 20.51 per kg to Rs 1,335.51 from last Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,315.00.

Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar hardened by Rs 14.51 per kg each to Rs 409.51 and Rs 437.51, as compared with Rs 395 and Rs 423, respectively.

Copper scrap heavy and copper armiture rallied by Rs 9.51 per kg each to Rs 399.51 and Rs 390.51.

Copper sheet cutting rose by 7.51 per kg to Rs 384.51.

Copper utensils scrap firmed up by Rs 6.51 per kg to Rs 366.51.

Aluminium ingots, zinc and lead moved up by Rs 2.51 per kg each to Rs 128.51, 133.51 and Rs 116.51, respectively.

Brass sheet cutting inched up by Rs 1.51 per kg to Rs 276.51.

Aluminium utensils scrap and nickel both edged up by mere Rs 0.51 per kg each to Rs 101.51 and Rs 1,175.51.

However, Brass utensils scrap traded lower by Rs 5.51 per kg to Rs 265.51 from last Thursday's closing level of Rs 270.
