BHEL extends gain on Rs 3,000 crore NTPC order

With this order, BHEL has taken its tally of supercritical boilers of 660 MW, 700 MW and 800 MW ratings to 32 sets, cementing its leadership position in supercritical technology, it added.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has moved higher by over 4% to Rs 196, extending previous day’s 1% gain on the BSE, after the company said it has bagged an order worth nearly Rs 3,000 crore for supply of steam generators for an upcoming power project in Odisha.

The company has received the order from the country's largest power producer NTPC for supply of 2x800 MW steam generators (boilers) with super critical parameters for the project at Darlipali in Odisha, BHEL said in a statement.

With this order, BHEL has taken its tally of supercritical boilers of 660 MW, 700 MW and 800 MW ratings to 32 sets, cementing its leadership position in supercritical technology, it added.

The stock opened at Rs 189 and touched high of Rs 197 on the BSE. A combined 5.87 million shares changed hands on the counter so far on the BSE and NSE.
