Cardamom remained weak and shed another Rs 6.70 to Rs 834 per kg in futures trading today due to weak trend at the spot markets on sluggish demand amid adequate stocks.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for August delivery declined by Rs 6.70, or 0.80%, to Rs 834 per kg, with a business turnover of 175 lots.
Similarly, the spice for September delivery lost Rs 4.90, or 0.56%, to Rs 873.10 per kg, with an open interest of 70 lots.
Analysts said weak trend at the spot market on sluggish demand against adequate stocks position mainly led to a decline in cardamom futures prices.
