Cardamom prices moved up by 0.22% to Rs 931.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions at existing lower levels, supported by pick-up in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August rose by Rs 2, or 0.22%, to Rs 931.10 per kg in business turnover of 151 lots.

In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in September edged up by Rs 1.50, or 0.17%, to Rs 901.90 per kg in 24 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to pick up in demand in the spot markets.
