Castorseed prices dropped by Rs 45.50 to Rs 4,655 per quintal in futures trading today owing to profit-booking at persisting higher levels.

Market analysts said traders were seen booking profits after a steep rise during the last few sessions, which pulled down the prices from recent highs.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for delivery in July shed by Rs 45.50, or 0.97%, to Rs 4,655 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,410 lots.

August castorseed slipped by Rs 40, or 0.85%, to Rs 4,660 per quintal, with a business turnover of 3,950 lots.
