Castorseed up 1% on increased buying

Castorseed futures prices looked up by Rs 43 to Rs 3,620 per quintal today on rising demand in spot markets.

Marketmen said better offtake by consuming industries amid restricted supply in physical markets, encouraged speculators to raise holdings.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for February delivery surged by Rs 43, or 1.20%, to Rs 3,620 per quintal, showing an open interest of 7,750 lots.

The March contract, which was the most active with an open interest in 8,390 lots, improved by Rs 26.50, or 0.74%, to Rs 3,592 per quintal.
