Sugar down 0.4% on ample supplies

Sugar futures for April declined by Rs 13, or 0.42%, to trade at Rs 3,094 per quintal in 28,760 lots.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the March contract shed Rs 11, or 0.36%, to Rs 3,033 per quintal in 28,500 lots.
Higher supplies in physical markets and poor demand form bulk consumers affecte the trade.
Delay in lifting curbs on the controlled sector by the government triggered the downtrend.
