Shares of CMC, a Tata group company, rose by 8.13 per cent to Rs 312 on the back of robust Q3 numbers. The Hyderabad-based IT company's consolidated net profit surged 19.12 per cent y-o-y to Rs 25.98 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008.
However, the consolidated revenue dipped 23.92 per cent y-o-y to Rs 216.37 crore. The stock made an intraday high of Rs 313 and a low of Rs 292.05. Trading volumes jumped eight times to 56,826 shares. The stock made a 52-week high of Rs 1,245 (January 15) and a low of Rs 249.95 (October 24).
