Taking firm cues from overseas markets, copper futures prices rose by one per cent to Rs 372.80 per kg today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, copper for delivery in November rose by Rs 3.70, or one per cent to, Rs 372.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 7,826 lots.

It ended 0.50 per cent higher at Rs 369.10 per kg in the previous session.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 3.30, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 376.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 518 lots.

Meanwhile, at the London Metal Exchange (LME), three-month copper was trading 1.27 per cent higher at $8,294 a tonne.

Market analysts said firming trend at the LME on expectations that the US Federal Reserve may announce another round of quantitative easing-buying bonds to inject cash into the market, supported the upside in copper futures here.
