Copper prices rose by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metals market today on increased industrial demand from local vendors.
Traders said increased industrial demand mainly led to the rise in copper prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap rose by Rs 2 to Rs 392 per kg.
The following are metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 114-120, nickel plate (4x4) 1,070-1,072, gun metal scrap 226, bell metal scrap 228, copper mixed scrap 392, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 126, lead imported 124, aluminium ingots 122, sheet cutting 124, aluminium wire scrap 128 and aluminium utensils scrap 123.
Copper on the London metal exchange was also trading higher today pulling base metals on the MCX higher. The dollar was trading weak in the global markets today, which pushed copper prices higher. A weak dollar makes dollar-denominated commodities more expensive to buy.
