Fulford India's prices spurted 14.3 per cent to close the day at Rs 331.8 on speculation that Merck’s acquisition of Schering Plough (SP) will result in an open offer. SP holds around 54 per cent in Fulford through its arm Dashtag.
The stock made an intraday high of Rs 345 and a low of Rs 315.95 with trading volumes of 64,188 shares (around seven times its two-week average). The scrip made a 52-week high of Rs 579 (March 28, 2008) and a low of Rs 271.5 (March 06, 2009).
