Gram and urad prices rose by up to Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today on emergence of buying by stockists on pick-up in demand from retailers.

However, masoor lacked necessary follow up support and declined.

Market analysts said fresh buying by stockists following pick-up in retailers demand mainly led to the rise in gram and urad prices.

Lack of necessary follow-up support against adequate stocks position led to the decline in masoor and its dal prices, they added.

In the national capital, gram rose by Rs 25 to Rs 2,500-2,525, while its dal local and best quality traded higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,950-2,965 and Rs 3,050-3,175 per quintal, respectively.

Urad and its dal chilka local also moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,000-4,400 and Rs 4,900-5,300 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and were enquired higher by the same margin to Rs 5,400-5,900 and Rs 5,350-5,450 per quintal, respectively.

On the other hand, masoor small and bold prices fell by Rs 150 each to Rs 2,800-3,000 and Rs 2,950-3,200, respectively, and its dal local and best quality lost Rs 200 each to Rs 3,300-3,400 and Rs 3,600-3,900 per quintal, respectively.
