Gujarat NRE Coke was locked in the upper circuit of 10 per cent to end the day at Rs 33 after reporting strong numbers for the second quarter ended September 2008. The company’s net profit gallopped by 719 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to Rs 102.75 crore over a 339 per cent increase in net sales of Rs 496 crore during the quarter.
The company announced the results on November 1. The stock touched a low of Rs 31.70, with trading volumes of 599,655 shares as against its two-week average of 731,821 shares.
