HDFC gains 5.4%; Satyam slips 1.2%

HDFC has surged 5.4% to Rs 2,285. HDFC Bank has gained 5.2% to Rs 1,211.

Reliance Infrastructure has moved up 4.2% to Rs 1,105. Jaiprakash Associates has advanced 3.6% to Rs 186.

SBI is up 3.4% at Rs 3.4%. DLF has added 3.3% to Rs 507. ONGC has inched 3.1% to Rs 870.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up nearly 3% to Rs 2,819.

Also Read

Maruti, ICICI Bank and Ranbaxy are the other major gainers.

On the other side, Satyam has lost 1.2% to Rs 482. Bharti Airtel has shed 0.8% to Rs 833. Relinace Communications is down 0.6% at Rs 532.

The markets breadth is positive - out of 2,645 stocks traded so far, 1,652 have advanced, 921 have declined and 72 are unchanged.
